Tune: Moscow
('Thou whose almighty word')
Psalms 148 & 150 parts
***********
Praise the LORD in the heights
Praise Him through days and nights
Father of lights
All creation now sing
And Him your tributes bring
Worship in holiness
And do Him bless
Angels, sun, moon, each star
You beings near and far
Let none debar
All creation Him praise
He made all, thank now raise
Established now for e'er
And ceases ne'er
Let all praise the LORD's name
It excellent, the same
Of worthy fame
His glory is above
Earth and heaven, the dove
The spirit of His love
Let praises ring
He does exalt the strength
Of His people at length
It be their praise
The praise of His people
All they who on Him call
A people to Him dear
They know Him near
Praise Him with instruments
And with wisdom, good sense
Even from hence
Come, Praise Him loud and long
Joining in joyful song
All that has breath Him praise
Wondrous His ways

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.4. 6.6.6.4. metre. Even KP (and mothers-in-law?!) should praise Him. It says 'Praise Him, ye dragons.....' in one verse of the Psalm!

I went out of sequence a bit - verse 3 slightly not rhyming. I realised I only had 7 lines per stanza, not 8 lines.
Also - Verse 4: What rhymes with 'strength' and 'length'? I have used 'praise' instead here.
I know the saying closer my god to thee.. or summat like.. but my idea of prominent praise is when I climbed to the top of Glastonbury Tor and danced a little embu or moving prayer in thanks of something very dear... and I dont mean expensive 🙂
Neville
Thanks Neville. Google took me to obscure areas - embu came up as somewhere in Nairobi. You been to Africa?!
I went up some Tor thingy - some sort of mount. Didn't see a thing - a real foggy day! Doh!
An embu is a moving prayer.. and yes.. I have been to Africa several times for holidays and three times to work as a volunteer at psychiatric hospitals.. the last time at Tanka Tanka in the Gambia...
Thanks Neville. Can't beat an embu now and again?
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
