Autumn-Imbued.

Fay Slimm.

Autumn-Imbued.

Summer is blighted now and as a quieter air
takes control strolls become autumn-imbued.

I follow the lead of late afternoon, basking
in glassy-topped sheen of meandering tide
that windless creeps up the now crowdless
shore while I while an hour away, walking
the adder-striped chocolate ridged ground,
wading through shallows of sea's ebb-line
sand lakes feeling like basins of gold water
tickling my toes in ripples ocean-smoothed.

August tho' bating leaves days for exploring
mellower pleasure of solo beach afternoons.

nature tickled you, as your words tickled my memory's senses -
wonderfully immersive writing on nature, as always

You have placed here, the perfect pre-autumn meander ... and.. get this ..

the adder - striped chocolate ridged ground ...

knocks spots even off Daphne du Maurier's 'mackerel sky' ...

        • Fay Slimm.

There's nothing like a quiet beach on a clear autumn day. Just the Sun, the ocean, and you. Wonderful for clearing thoughts and musing new poetry such as this. Lovely poem ,Fay. - Phil A.

I really appreciate your interest in my little scribbles dear Phil and so pleased you liked Auumn-Imbued -- as you rightly say you cant beat a beach on a clear autumn day.

ANGELA HERE - Good Evening Fay - Autumn (September - October - November !) is often too cold for Sea Swimming ~ So it is an ideal time for paddling in the surf. Especially if the Body is Warm - the cooling of the feet & legs is quite invigorating ! In essence (as long as there is some Sun) it can exend the *Lazy Hazy Days of Summer* For those of us still earning a crust ~ we pray for dry (& warm) Autumn Weekends - especially for Sailing ! By November we are usually swishing though the Leaves rather than the Surf ! In Decemberswishing through the carpet in front of a LOG FIRE ~ or this year - hopefully the S NOW ~ AMEN. Thanks for sharing

            Blessings & Peace & Joy
            Love Angela - Brian & Smokey ! ! !
