The music rushes from the stage,
Operatic arias so intense
Summoning all emotions,
Causing anger, love and tears
As she throws herself off the battlements.

- Comment from author about the poem: As many of you know I enjoy a variety of music, Tosca is one of the operas which I have probably listened to more than any other, this clip is from one of the best versions that I have seen, please watch the clip right to the end to see something that will make you smile.

Hmmm opera. Few and far between are the operas my ears will tolerate. As a child i was tortured with opera from fathers low-fi hi-fi and biased my opinion.
I can understand that d a, early on in my life I would not tolerate any classical music that had voices in it. My father and I went to a music appreciation club and during one discussion I mentioned this to the leader of the group and he said "Well what you don't seem to realise is that the voice is just another instrument." This really struck home and I have been appreciating all classical music with voices ever since.
My fathers taste in music was almost as eclectic as mine and for that I am very grateful that he showed me how much music there was out in the world.

A very moving write. Opera is a fine blend of dramatic storytelling and powerful music. It can certainly raise the emotions you describe here. Thank you for this post. - Phil A.
Thank you Phil, yes opera can really raise the emotions. I always have tears running down my face at the last scene in Rigoletto.

although not a personal fan of opera this is certainly a fine and pitch perfect acrostic ... maybe I will give it a try .... and yes.. it did make me smile sir ....
Thank you Neville, the ending to this film of Tosca is the only thing that would make you smile, it is the one opera where everyone dies in the end.
