Summer’s End

Neville

Summer’s End

My walks in the park are now laboured

The dapples, more darker now too

~~

There is a chill in the air, I once savoured

~~

Saying goodbye to summer as late as it is

Is simply no fun without you

When your heart is closing down and feeling like turning in on itself, it's not a good time to see the world's plantlife closing down too. Roll on spring and recovery.

The end of summer, isolated and alone, with only darkening days to look forward to, can take the fun out of life. But, there's nothing like a good love song being created, to fill the time. Go for it.
You know what they say , " when you play Country Music backwards/"
You get your girl back, your dog back, your truck back, etc."
Keep smiling, it'll soon be Spring. - Phil A.

                        • Neville

forgive my rudeness my friend, my mind read you words and got stuck - with your lines rearranged like this:
'My walks in the park are now laboured
There is a chill in the air, I once savoured
The dapples, more darker now too
Saying goodbye to summer, simply: without you'
wonderful write! (whatever way its read)

                          • Neville

.... I kinda like it when a poem does that to one of my peers .. particularly one whom I have a lot of time for and respect ...

so thank you L.B .. I like your version too by the way ... Oh' and get posting some more my friend .. I seem to have visited all of those you have placed here so far ..

                            • L. B. Mek

thank you for not taking offense,
I post Fridays and Mondays usually, I lack the talent you all posses to produce works of such quality - at your levels of productivity, I'll post an extra one this week since you so kindly requested

                              • Neville

Hey .. neva put yourself down like that L.B .. it is hard to see one's own worth .. some of yours are priceless and I really dont need to say that .. but say as I find ... only psychopaths, narcissists and those with inflated ego's put themselves on pedestals .. I am away for a few days so may have to catch ya new one/s on my return ... stay safe,

                                Neville
