Beach-Combing
No shells today after the gale
but huge mole-hilly
bunches of mermaid's long hair
were trailing
the beach in tide-circled piles.
Everywhere I found discarded
remnants of old
Neptune's party where
maidens flung aside
ribbons in seaweedy waves as
they all danced wildly.
Poets love beach-combing finds.

nature needs no combing to deliver its poignant fruits, merely a gifted Poet's: keen eyes, to unravel the majesty from the debris,
makes one yearn for the Seaside that little bit more, a beautiful write
How kind and encouraging this comment L.B. - - yes beach-combing is priceless to a poet like me - -- so pleased you liked the read.
Oh for gently windswept hair, sandy toes and feet and the distant roar of tide out. A rarity for us in-landers who are jealous of your shoreline familiarity and romance it's idea.
Too true that only a mere few of our poets have the gift of beach-combing and my little effort to share what I fancy is to bring the tide's gems to those living in-land - sending you virtual wisps of kelp's hair and hoping you catch the whiff of a mermaid D.A.
Good write Fay.
Thank you Orchi.
As d a has said us inlanders can only dream of walking by the sea beach-combing but your words always take us there Fay so I am grateful to you.
Andy
Ah - to know that is my delight dear Andy - to be gifted with words that take readers to where the sea ebbs and flows is all that I need..... so so pleased you enjoyed the read.
How very bloomin apt my dear lady Fay.. I woz only wanderin along some of your very wild and rugged shores this very early mane ... and must have just missed the mermaids hairdresser because shorn n strewn locks were everywhere ..... x
Apt indeed if the read caught you near to my favourite walks to catch what the tide brings to whet my poet' s appetite Nev........ hoping you spot a mermaid or two before your homeward journey mine Sir ..................x
