Tune: Lobe Den Herren
('Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation')
*************
Psalm 45 v.6-7
Your throne, O God, is for
Ever and ever, still stands sure
The sceptre of your kingdom
Is a righteous sceptre, wholesome
You love the right
Though enemies do you fight
You overcome them in your might
Psalm 45 v.7 & v.17
Lord Christ, you hate wicked
Therefore your God has you anointed
You with oil of gladness
Above your companions, does you bless
I will make your
Name to be remembered sure
Through all generations e'ermore
Psalm 46 v.1-2
God is our refuge, He
A present help in troubles be
Therefore we will not fear
Though the earth may be removed here
Or mountains be
Carried into midst of sea
God shall help us abundantly
Psalm 47 v.1-2
Clap hands, all you people
Sing, praise, shout you unto God all
Raise voice of triumph high
For the LORD is great, and is nigh
He awesome be
King over all the earth, see
Reigning in omnipotency
Psalm 47 v.6-7
Sing praises to God, sing
Unto Him worthy tributes bring
Sing praises to your King
He be the LORD o'er everything
O'er all earth King
He be, let worship now ring
Sing praises with understanding

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.8.6.8. 4.7.8. metre. The two pairs of 6.8.'s are 14 syllables per line in the original. I have broken them down, to be more manageable.

Thanks B&A.
This seems very complicated to me in terms of its rhyme and structure .. I imagine it would be better sung aloud than merely read....
Neville
Thanks Neville. It's them pesky 14-syllable lines, innit? See the first two long lines of each verse in the clip. I've broken it down into 6.8. 6.8.6. Then it's a 4.7.8. Bit tricky too.
Sing it? Yes,of course I will, but they all run away. lol.
