Tune: Golden Sheaves
('To thee, O Lord, our hearts we raise')
Psalm 65 v.5-13
********
O God, you are the confidence
Of ends of earth, who now hence
Look to you to provide through all
The year as they on you call
You see those on the sea that are
On their travels, they go far
By your strength you mounts establish
By your power, not mere wish
The noise of the sea's waves you still
And tumult of man's ill-will
To utmost ends of earth men fear
Your signs, revere you, you near
You make morns and evenings rejoice
Each day appointed, your choice
You visit the earth and do pour
Waters on it from your store
With the river of God you do
Greatly enrich it anew
This river full of water be
Not given meagre, sparsely
You prepare foods, corn of the land
Provided by your good hand
Cycle of life, harvest does spring
Again, and does plenty bring
You water ridges and furrows
Abundantly, the land knows
'Tis from your supply, and showers
You send at certain hours
To make land soft, and it you bless
Plants grow from it, we confess
You crown the year with your goodness
You give abundance, no less
Hills, mounts, lowlands, forests, and fields
All are glad, all praise you yields
Pastures are clothed with flocks of sheep
In your grace you do then keep
And valleys all are covered o'er
With corn, you do provide sure
They wave their heads in breeze gently
Sing they in fine harmony

Good one Orchi.
That first clip where it show a Church on a bridge is the Methodist Church I go to. Some of the singers I recognised as well but they are a bit older now.
Andy

Thanks B&A. Yes, farmers smiling too, we hope. The verse says (in old versions anyway) that the corn is 'shouting for joy and singing'. I looked up The Message for your verse. I thought you had quoted from there. But no - The Message version is ghastly.
