Together.

Goldfinch60

As the tears run down my face

I feel so lost,

Lost without her.

Those times together,

Our love so profound,

So deep.

That joy was with us,

Forever with us.

But now as I sit in our house

I know she is not there,

I look around

Looking at things she touched,

Things she loved,

But she is not there.

I sit and dream of her

But the tears just increase.

The many, many years we had together

Are forever in my heart,

And will always be there.

One day the day will come

When my tears stop,

That day we will be together,

Together once more

And more wonderful memories

Will be there for us both

When we travel into our future,

Together.

No one reading your words over these last few years could be in any doubt of the love and devotion between you and your darling wife.
Even before christianity hijacked the belief, it was long understood that there is an afterlife where our spirit passes into another reality. Nature itself supports this belief as do you.
The most precious thing we have is this spark within us which is life itself. I know that when my brother passed I said to myself that i would live these later years for his spirit as well as mine.
Many feelings intertwine in our beliefs of hereafter though it is plain to see yours are nothing but the most wholesome bonded together by your understanding of love.

a loving tribute, 'Together once more' your hopeful line reads, but I'm not sure if a love like yours can ever be kept apart, maybe 'side by side once more', but together? I think you're together right now, reading these lines and thinking of her, knowing somewhere she's thinking of you too... That's a form of together as well, a wonderful gift you've been blessed with!

Thank you LB, yes I know we will be together once more and be together forever as we go to eternity.

Beautiful write there! Made me sigh! I must say I am envious of a love so true, it lives on beyond the now and into the afterlife,

            Take Care!

She never leaves your side dear Andy - - love cannot die and is part of the permanent so you are still in each other's heart and mind....... that gift of true love lives on dear friend.
