Trusting Tale

Tune: Ruth

('Summer suns are glowing')

********

Psalm 37 v.7

Rest in the LORD and wait

Patient, He not late

To come to your help, see

He your strength will be

Fret not o'er the wicked

In false paths they led

Fear not they who evil

Schemes seek to fulfil

Psalm 37 v.23-24

The steps of good people

They are ordered all

By the LORD, they delight

In His word and light

Though they may fall, they sahll

Not stay down, fare well

For the LORD them upholds

Guards them guides, enfolds

Psalm 38 v.21-22

Forsake me not, LORD, you

Are my God, 'tis true

Be not far from me, so

Your presence I know

Make haste here to help me

I your servant be

O LORD my salvation

And to each nation

Psalm 39 v.5

My days as a hand span

You have made, none can

Add to years you ordain

And have settled plain

You great God, we all be

Small and vanity

Before your power we

As a vapour be

Psalm 40 v.16

Yet let they who seek you

Rejoice, be glad too

In you, and who do so

They salvation know

Let them lift your name high

Above earth, sea, sky

Say, LORD, be magnified

None compares beside

  • Comment from author about the poem: a hymn-poem in 6.5.6.5. 6.5.6.5 metre. Using the 'Summer suns' tune, though it can be sunny at any season. Also a pic of a dark evening (?)!
