LET ME BEGIN ~ By saying the Mountains of the UK are not the Highest or the most Spectacular in the World ! BUT they are some of the most Beautiful ~ especially when paired with the Spectacular Lakes in the English Lake District. Another massive advantage is that they are on a Human Scale. Provided the weather is FAIR ~ You have appropriate CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR ~ and A GUIDE etc any of the Peaks (including BEN NEVIS) can be scaled (Up & Down !) in ONE DAY ! Provided you start EARLY ! Appropriate Clothing is not OPTIONAL ! Boots must be worn - Windproof Trousers - a Sweater & Waterproof Jacket - A Hat - Alpine Sticks are optional. You should always carry Food & Drink (There are no Caffs ~ except on the Summit of Snowdon !) Also Survival Blankets should you need to shelter in a storm. Torch - Compass - Maps etc etc. You should always inform someone (at ground level !) where & when you are going ! Angela & I generally go Fell Walking with someone who has done the Route previously & survived ! BEN NEVIS (4411 Feet) is the highest in Scotland ~ SNOWDEN (3560 feet) in Wales ~ SCAFELL PIKE (3209 feet) in England & Slieve Donard (2790 feet) in Northern Island ~ Love & Blessings ~ Angela & Brian 💛💛💛

Oohh, I'll get me coat and other necessary stuff then. I'll be going alone, mind ya. But why? Cos I'll be singing 'Climb every mountain!' That will scare them all off. lol. Who can bear that for about 3,000 feet?!
BRIAN HERE ~ Hi Uncle Steve - Singing is all part of the Fun. When we took parities of TEENS to Snowdonia ~ Wednesday was always SNOWDEN Day.. We had about 50 with 5 Leaders (1 to 10) When we reached the Summit (4 hours) we all sang Cwm Rhonda with one verse in Welsh ! Everybody joined in ~ AMEN

Downhill is tricky' I broke my ankle just twisting it at a incline! And it was just a hill ' no mountain!
Hiking is fun! But mountains are out of my league these days! The last incline looked pretty steep ' I was crawling like a coyote on all fours! Love the poem
