Oceans on Broadway

M.E.M.

Waves unfurl

like the curtain on Broadway.

Casting the ocean into shadow.

Backstage the actors finally breathe.

The tech crew pulls lines and ties knots

securing the ocean floor.

Striking the set pieces.

The beach is still loud with applause,

whistles and holler.

Coming to the surface

for one final bow,

The cast soaks in the rays of sun

before diving deep.
