part 1β€”β€”β€”
It’s was a Monday
And I was a child of five
Kindergarten Day
I saw a little boy cry
Said” momma , don’t leave me here
Part 2 β€”β€”β€”β€”
I asked him is name
He said it was James Monroe
It fit him just fine
But with Mama, I shall go
I ask him β€œ can you please stay?”
Part 3 β€”β€”β€”β€”
I β€˜ll see you Tuesday
Then I whispered so softly
Will you be my Friend?
He smiled and said, sure why not
My name is Dove, by the Way
Part 4β€”β€”β€”-
We sat together
On Wednesday it was a blast
No more did he cry
Our friendship is forever
Hello, Hello, James Monroe
Part 5β€”β€”-
During the summer
We would go our separate ways
James Monroe did drown
Fifth grade was So heartbreaking
My best friend wasn’t around
