Things have to be the way they are
It is what it is
Your soft tweed jacket
And hat and old school tie are here
But the fact is you are not
I must remember this
It's not a lot to take in
That you have died
I just resist
And so I will have to apply myself to try
Not looking for you
In the next room and the next

Lorna,
Welcome back!😄
I’m so happy to ‘see’ you.
I missed you very much!
“I will have to apply myself to try
Not looking for you
In the next room and the next“
Your words are so true...
I have the same sentiments about my mom.
Although it’s getting easier to accept that they’re gone, we will always miss them!
Warm Regards
Laura🌻
Sweet message thank you. And losing your Mom is losing a huge part of yourself isn't it. Anyway, at least I'm not crying every other minute.... so boring for people! ha.......
A sensitive write Lorna.
Welcome back Lorna - you have been missed and this sad posting tells why loss of such a personal kind is the worst kind of challenge until time eases the grief - the final line in the read had me in tears.
Thank you Fay............glad to see you.
unfortunately this is so very relatable and sad .. fortunately, and I am sure many others will feel the same, there is nothing corny whatsoever here .. you have crafted a beautiful poem on an emotionally charged and personal issue/loss .. and .. if as I imagine based on an actual personal bereavement .. I offer my sincere condolences ...
On another note .. welcome back my friend,
... Neville
So appreciate Neville - thank you.
more than welcome ... my pleasure ....
Welcome back Lorna, it is great to see you here again.
I know exactly how you feel, my wife passed away at the end of December last year. Words have helped me with my loss but one set of words has helped so much.
"When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind."
Andy
Oh Andy I was wondering but I didn't like to ask.......... I'm so sorry. She sounded like the love of your life and I felt what you were going through. Thank you for the words.... it does take time though doesn't it.
