Fay Slimm.

Because each granite-necked minute strangles
desire's set sail shall grief's tongue so anchored
see love's dazzling coast no more ?

Shall a tear-drenched spark within ready breast
not light on horizons new and warm ?

Because a mature pearl's glint becomes staved
on death's barrier reef shall this sea-siren wait
to become blind to advances ?

Shall the caged heart's talons gnawing at need
not see night's silk rise unshackled ?

Because cinders grow cold when un-bellowed
shall a stacked basket not harbour fresh coals
with flint to spark smouldering ashes ?

Shall stalled life not take a late fur-lined climb
to tomorrow's state of shared romance ?

not see night's silk rise unshackled ?'
wonderful imagery and effortless flow adding a dreamy feel to this introspective write

So glad you enjoyed the imagery contained in the verse L.B. - I intended the questions to flow slowly and pleased you caught that feel too. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment on Stalled.

this is seriously good .. tis ragged and real as they come but with no rough edges ...

alas I fear one or t'other lover maybe arrived too late to say a proper and meaningful goodbye ..

... left cold wanting and waiting .. that is where these words took me today ...

somewhere off a Cornish coast too, I imagine ....

          • Fay Slimm.

Glad you felt a reality in today's posting Nev. so your vision of wanting and waiting gave imagination free reign which is as maybe but I count as an honour - - I truly appreciate your deeper reads of my humble efforts and thank you immensely.............x Fay

One answer to all, and that is NO! "Stall" no longer. Engage, Seek happiness. It is why we all are here. The open heart beats faster than the than the reserved one. Love gives meaning to Life.
I'm saving your questions for future reference. - Phil A.

              • Fay Slimm.

Ah - that resounding NO to all those proffered questions in Stalled gives me confidence that the metaphors didn't fail and that you found the ode fairly engaging. Grateful too Phil for your saving the poem and for the wise statement that "Love gives meaning to Life" - Great to have your supportive comments.
