the sea

dusk arising

The sea, the sea, I must go
down again to the sea
for i hear its calling
in the very bones of me.

It's not the crash of waves
nor to float upon the deep
or building castle shapes
her hungry tides greedily keep.

Not those but what it does
here inside... to the spiritual me
becalming unanswered questions
giving the sight to actually see.

Raising me up above the
mundane and confused
to my own insignificance
not too big for my shoes.

Oh to meditate to her crashing roar.

As I said on Fay's poem the sea is such a special place to be beside it brings calmness within us and absolute wonder whether it is calm or rough.
One day you will be there meditating in peacefulness.

I'd be there right now and would have been there several times already if it were not for this pandemic..... but i guess i'm not selfish enough to ignore shielding advice like all those day trippers still doing it.

Bit stormy for it today! heehee.

You're not scared to be by the ocean when its stormy are u?

La Mer..... love watching it from the sidelines and hope you get there soon.....

Yep, i don;t like the idea of being tossed around on a boat... i'll stay onshore.

Am highly honoured D.A.that my few words brought from your pen this moving confession to the call of an ocean --- the sea air has so many health benefits and when time is ready I can imagine you there viewing its humbling presence just as I try to do come what may.

Yes, this was written in earnest after reading your piece. The picture is of church rock at broadhaven south in S Wales... a lovely spot which has entered my writing several times.

            D.A.,

            Ah the sea...
            the wonderful sea.
I miss walking along the amazing beaches of Sardinia myself...so peaceful and tranquil.
In due time youā€™ll once again be by your special placeā€”the sea.

            All the best to you.

Thank you, I certainly will be alongside the ocean when this pandemic is becalmed.

this has got the ache I used to recognise in the faces of folk I used to meet when I worked in the Midlands .... landlocked for miles n miles because of geography .... I understand precisely what you mean ....

and should you ever find yourself down this way once all this Covid thing is behind us ... I would be happy to treat you to a pint of your choosing down by the very edge of it ......

Oh the peace and serenity of the rolling waves, basking in the coolness of the winds, the skies kissing the ocean water! Like Meditation, pure bliss! A very joyful read Dusk!!

'here inside... to the spiritual me

brilliantly insightful and delightfully mesmeric in its poetic honesty,
              great write!

Crashing waves enraptured those soothing sounds. Thank you for the vision

Lovely lines. And I feel the same about the sea.
