Awayness.
Time-racked talk sickens yet clings to torn veils
Train whistles awayness with distancing rails.
Faith blurs in acceptance of passion's demise.
Migratory instinct knows no compromise.
Hurt trust clutches comfort from memory's pyre.
Heart wavers as choice engulfs hope's dying fire.
Come autumn I question why fences now down
Summer's spent echoes of love still resound.

May that train take you into life's wonder as your words have for me.
Andy
Bless you for your caring comment dear Andy - -- the wonders of life are all around wherever our "train" might take us.
learned a new word, gained a new fav to add to my re-reading buffet: guess safe to say - you've done it again Fay,
showcasing your range with this deceptively relatable gem of a write!
Grateful thanks for the addition of Awayness to your list of favourites L.B. - -- so glad you could relate to the poem.
this is another one of them Fay Slimm poems that makes the reader suck in a deep breath as they savour each and every word .. and let out with a sigh ..

Ah - - - pleased you were able to savour the words of Awayness dear Nev........ thanking you ever so much for all your continued support and encourgagement.
So much to read into this fine piece as it paints upon the easel of my mind. The perpetual romance of a train in the distance takes ones mind on a journey to where it will lean as our faith tells us to live life and accept all which arrives at our station in life. Yet with fences down those glory days light our pleasure and regret..... a story of life for a lone romantic poet... quite beautiful..... and easily relatable,
What a beautifully poetic comment - - thanking you truly D.A. for your time and engaging review of Awayness.
Oh the train ride from summer to autumn.......
It certainly is just that dear Lorna - - thanks for your visit and comment dear friend.
Where ya going?! Good write Fay.
Thank you Orchi and as for the question am going no further than the fireside tonight.
