twas in the late of november fallen
as winter fell cruel on the land
to catch ye then as ye hurry
home and didst not tarry to inhale
her deep crisp and chilling greeting
nor heed your old bones a creaking
all buttoned up and swift upon thy way
in this time of a coal fire warming
with mulled glass of good cheer
hail and hearty,
aye,
winter be here.

ANGELA HERE - Good Morning DUSK ~ Theres a nip in the air this morning in Essex and we*re in Lockdown agan ! Thanks for the Video a very intriguing Tune to wake up to !
Love the POEM and the language ! Nothing like a Mulled Wine after a hard days work and we do have and *Open Coal & Log Fire* in our first Home together. Despite the Lockdown - Brian & I will both be in our Jobs (Teaching & Physio) Full Time ! Thanks for sharing.
Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
Love Angela & Brian.
You two take care out there and keep yourselves safe from the virus. THis winter and christmas will be so special for you as your first as a married couple. Falling asleep in one anothers arms to keep warm is one of the most basic ways to celebrate your bond, and quite a wonderful place to wake up too!
A fine write Dusk.
Time to put that doggy jacket on Fido and wrap your head in a scarf Orchi.
Right! Home we go again! Told ya! It's nice there isn't it....... this early November will be full of angst here as we see if we are going to remain a democracy or fall to the fascists.. keep fingers crossed that we squash the bug........
From across the pond in Blighty we watch amused at your elected clown. He is very entertaining but seems to rely on the same joke time after time - himself!
Yes home is a good place to be in winter when you have a good store of fuel and food with a blazing fire in your hearth.
Brilliant!
the picture was so atmospheric as well, as a whole: a completely delectable meal for my reading pleasure,
writes like these are the simple gems I cherish
Woah there, thats taken me aback. I'm really pleased you liked this one. Thank you.
November ... aargh, and arguably my least favourite of all the months ..
... here you do her proud though .. as like a siren .. she dares to pave the way and beckon deeper winter in ....

This guy fawkes has become an opportunity to further upset my neighbor who has taken upon himself he task of being the most awkward being upon the planet, so i've been looking forward to November.
Yes, stepping out the other evening the first chill of winter air alerted my nostrils..... a change in the air.... happens every year and reminds one of time's cycle..... i must check the tyres on that.
Thanks Neville.
Your words bring their own shiver as November peeps through each line - - a time indeed when outdoor jobs seem impossible and log fires crackle to beckon us in.............. another little gem my friend which was a delight to read.
Thank you, yes its important for us senior chickens to stay warm and safe and ignore the outdoors as much as we can this year i think. Though thats a new way of writing comes to mind, the view from my window as dawn peeps over the hedge teasing my frosty panes (and pains lol).
don't remind me,i turn 38 on november 24,more often than not we are covered in snow.i don't like being really cold.haha, you make it sound nice, thanks dusk,
I'm unsure about 'nice' but it certainly suddenly became cold here in U.K.
In these cooler times it is always so wonderful to be indoors at home safe, warm and comfortable within oneself.

Thanks Goldie, we don't seem to have a lot of choice these days. Being vulnerable (I'm going to get a chip on my shoulder - thanks Government) i'm shielding again.... living for another day.
One continuous compelling sentence. As clever as it is touching.
Hope you didn't read it aloud. Would certainly need a good deep breath...... to be honest sometimes i just ignore capitals and punctuation (as do many these days) but not always.... gives more interpretive freedom to the reader I hope.
