Tune: Serenity
('Immortal love, for ever full')
Based on a Collect {Formal Prayer} and 1 Peter 4 v.7-10
************
O Lord, our hearts they restless be
'Til rested sure in thee
In you, our Creator, and we
Your creatures we so be
Help us offer ourselves to you
You strengthen us, renew
Whate'er we have, 'tis what you give
Each breath you give, we live
Take us, our gifts, skills and talents
That we and others sense
Your presence in and through us by
Your Spirit within, [and] nigh
The aim of man, to glorify
You, Lord God, we ally
Ourselves to you, what we speak, do
May it e'er honour you
Be sober, watching unto prayer
In charity, love, share
Be hospitable and grudge not
So fair shall be your lot
Be good stewards, your gifts do use
To spread gospel, good news
The grace of God, it manifold
Expressed in what done, told

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. metre. The title came to me, probably from the opening lines of the poem. An old hymn-book somewhere has 38 verses to the hymn in the clip. I will sing them all to you! Can you bear it?! heehee.

Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
Best be sober when going to prayer .. you never know who might be listening ....
Thanks Neville. Why yes, one reason I keep adding water to whisky, etc, so I say. Though they will shoot me if they find me - the Phantom Tipple-Waterer! Heard by the 'Psstt' sound of syphon, but never seen - hopefully! I dunno what all the fuss is about. I only want them to stay sober. lol.
