The Way, The Truth, and The Life -- Triplet of Haikus on John 14:6

BlueHeron77

"The Way"

You are a whisper

Shouting silently in ear

Here, Child, is the Way

"The Truth"

Let me know Your ways

No shadow exists in You

Forever fountain

"The Life"

Deeply breath You in

Planted beside Your river

Given life anew

  • Comment from author about the poem: I began writing the first Haiku, and named it The Way. The thought then hit me to try to tie the verse of scripture together from John 14:6 where Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except by me. I don't know if there's such a thing as a Triplet of Haikus, but I wanted to write them in Haiku form and the three of them be linked together. As I wrote these, I jotted down the impressions I had from each of these concepts of Jesus being these three things: Way / Truth / Life. These three things mean so much to my life and give me a certain level of comfort that knowing Christ personally, gives me a overarching sense of peace in my life. I hope you can enjoy them, even if you don't adhere to the Christian faith.

apart from 'the way', I like how you try and respect the ethos of the Haiku format by injecting imagery of nature in your 2nd and 3rd Haikus,
    wonderfully innovative
