Tune: Southwell
('Lord Jesus, think on me')
Psalm 142 v.5-7
*********
I cried to you, O LORD
Hear me, true is your word
I said, You LORD, my refuge are
My portion, best by far
In this land of living
My cry I to you bring
Attend to me, I am brought low
May I your help now know
My enemies they be
Stronger than I am, see
Bring my soul out of prison, raise
Me up, so you I praise
Will praise your name, it be
Good and wholesome and free
The righteous they shall surround me
You tend me graciously

who, in their time of abject need can claim they would not utter similar thoughts of yearning for anything, something: to provide salvation, or a pathway to acceptance for all the suffering that mere existence entails...
good read
Thanks LB. You may know, like a Hymn-Book, the Psalms (the Jewish 'Hymn book') are somewhat arranged in themes. They end on 'good bits!' (apx Psalms 145 - 150), though good bits are scattered throughout.
As you know, my thoughts of god differ from yours but your words today are as applicable to my appreciation of what god is, as they are to yours.
Good one Orchidee.
Thanks dusk.
