Tune: Sandys
('Teach me, my God and King')
Isaiah 49 v.13-16
***********
Sing, heavens, be joyful
O earth, and give praise all
Break forth into singing, you mounts
And spring you water founts
For the LORD has comfort
Unto His people brought
And mercy upon afflicted
He shows, has not it hid
But His people, they say
O woe is us today
For the LORD has us forsaken
Not to us Him taken
Forsaken and forgot
Yes, this is sure our lot
But the LORD says, Woman, can she
Forget child, from it flee?
Upon her babe she should
Have compassion, so would
She love and care for child, but know
If she did forget so
Know I the LORD will not
Forget you, will allot
You a place ever, engraven
You on my hands, see then
You and your dwellings be
Before me constantly
Close to my heart, e'en on my palms
I bring you comfort, balms

Thanks Gold. Well, there is that, as it's said. It's what the people said in verse 3 and first half of verse 4 of this poem.
