THE Rook

FineB

A majestic tower,

Second in rank to the ultimate power force the Queen,

It influences on the chessboard with its cross - shaped aura,

A figure of intensity as it clears the chessboard clean.

The Rook does have power but even he can be defeated by the pawn.

      Hi Andy,

So true. In my game I am learning about pawn structure.

I always like the rook to clear up my opponent's pieces towards the end of a game

      Good write Fine.
There's the sneaky 'Castling' move with the King too. The King actually moves more than one square at a time then.

        Hello Orchidee,

        Thank you.

They say you need to castle quite frequently I have been neglecting this a lot in a lot of my games.

Chess is a life long journey of surprises.
