The Bishop

FineB

A spiritual presence in a chess game,

It attacks and captures pieces with grace,

Sliding throughout the chessboard in diagonal motion,

It's rapid speed can be felt within every space.

      Thanks Neville,

The last game I played the Bishop was tricky until my King took him.

Most bishops slide diagonally, avoiding trouble and conflict.

        Yes Andy.

Tis challenging a Bishop's life on and off the chessboard.

Much easier to be part of the congregation being led.

Keep writing ✍ and safe during lockdown.

Bishops in battles! 'God is on our side' both sides say. Doh!

        • FineB

Keep writing ✍ and safe during lockdown.

One's bishop should always be respected and brought into play only when a successful mating may take place.

Oh... you were basing this on chess.... i was thinking of...... oh well.

ANGELA HERE = Thanks for another Saga in your *Odes to Chessology* Because I can multitask I often find I have a better overview of the Game thanBRIAN who is technically a more experienced player. ! With two Bishops one commands all the Black & White squares in both an attacking & defensive mode. For Beginners _ because of its diagonal mode of attack it is difficult to see where it will strike next ! An unguarded QUEEN is often the victim of a BISHOP early in a game between Novices ! Atacking Knights & Bishops are two Pieces I teach youngsters to be very wary of ! Chess can teach us many lessons iin Real Life ~ AMEN

Blessings & Joy & Peace with Love

            HI Angela, Brian and Smokey.

            Thank you.

The Bishop doesn't worry me, it's rhe Knight that can be my Achilles heel in a game at times if Im not too careful.

Keep writing ✍ and safe all of you during lockdown.
