Nevafar
Her words, although lost on the wind
Je riviendrai mon amour ..
Yet still they come back to haunt me
..
And like the scent of her drifting
They do tease and delight
The corners of these poor eyes and these lips
..
Yes, poor things
Both now seriously redundant,
Yet primed and with hope, forever and always ..

Somethings are said and linger. They tease hope when time should have erased it. Encourage the romance of daydreams until her indoors shouts at us in indignation.
Then along comes flippin schwarzenegger with his "I'll be back" and makes a nonsense of our romancing.
Lovely atmospheric romantic poem Neville. I wonder what/who she's doing now.
............. thank you kindly and true my dear friend .. and for the record, I too share that wonder

Ah --- "I will come back" How compelling the sounds of those words from a lover - this emotive read smacks of long lonely waiting but with a lifting last line - hope can open doors long thought closed.
.............................................. Bless ya big time my lovely literary friend ................................ N x

words that capture the essence of yearning within lost love's regret,
emotive writing at its elegant best
... I wish I could say something more meaningful than just thank you my friend .. but such words fail me time and time again ..
I just hope that when I say or write those two little words, they ring as true as they are meant to ...

Words "lost on the wind," and yet "come back to haunt," and inspire, but we know that the here and now is the only reality, yet we can dream can't we. How much of our reverie is filled with such moments? She may have "drifted" but the memory lingers. Too much time has passed for it to be anything more than a whimsical thought and a lovely poem. - Phil A.
