Tune: The Staff of Faith

('My faith it is an oaken staff')

Isaiah 52 v.7-11

**********

How beautiful upon mountains

Are feet of they that bring

Good tidings of good things and peace

The gospel, and release

From sin, and from captivity

Hark, this is what the message be

Your God reigns, Zion, mount holy

Jerusalem, here see

Break forth into joy and do sing

Together to your King

You places lain waste, now comfort

For you the LORD has sought

And He has His people redeemed

Though all for them was lost it seemed

The LORD made bear His holy arm

His power saved them from harm

All nations they shall see His power

And salvation each hour

Gospel message unto earth's ends

His messengers He sends

Leaving the things that be unclean

Let cleanness, purity be seen

Of those who do evangelise

A mighty band arise

My schoolteacher Mr. Yates bless him used to regularly give me a jolly good clip .. usually behind the ear ... but back in the day, I used to be a regular sinner ..... ..

it would be something if all nations could live in peace and harmony .. respect...

Those first two lines took me back to times we had to memorize a choral piece based on that Biblical text - -- good read Orchi.
