It relaxes me, and many others,
But to some; it does nothing but shudders
Their spines all the wrong way,
Whereas, I pleasantly tingle all through the day.
I pay my attention to these new saints,
The ASMR babes with their many paints,
Though painting their pictures with soothing sound,
So, that for a moment; my worries are underground.
Thus, a role-playing game will begin,
Where I become quiet, and these angels sing,
To put on accents, don different forms,
Giving birth to a tranquil wondrous warmth.
Hence, if I fancy a third eye alignment,
TirarADeguello is on assignment,
This mad doctor puts me under a spell,
Ensuring that for now, all is well.
Perhaps, a “haircut” I may desire,
Thus, the lovely Lucy tends to fire,
Stoking, stroking and snipping with flair,
A creative calm breath of fresh air.
Or maybe a trip away; could ease my pain,
Either it be on track or on an aeroplane,
Let customary sounds play on and on,
With no ads of course, or else the peace is gone.
In such a harsh time, it’s important to rest,
We’ve got to keep our strength, to continue; to invest,
Our time into life, to keep our dreams alive,
Thus, if you can’t sleep; why not give this a try.
Therefore, ASMRtists, I give you a vote of thanks,
For filling in resplendently, all my restless blanks,
So, that sometimes; I can escape the loudness of the real,
To be away from politics; that makes my heart congeal.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is a homage to ASMR and ASMRtists, who help relax me and so many others around the world. White noise sometimes is most definitely the right noise for me, as it allows me to be as relaxed as possible, which in this hard time is imperative. I would really recommend that you try this out if you have not yet already done so, as it could work wonders for you. Featured in the poem are two of my favourite ASMRtists, TirarADeguello and Lucy (Creative Calm ASMR) and they can be found on YouTube and other social media platforms. Hope you enjoy, and please do take care.

This is a wonderful poem! As far as ASMRtists, one of my faves is Bertram Craft a Wilderness (silent bushcrafting videos) with the sounds of nature, crackling fires, sawing or chopping of wood, etc...
SO very relaxing!
Thank you, Goddess of the Mist, glad that you enjoyed it, and I hope that you are well during this hard time.
Righto, I will definitely check out Bertram Craft a Wilderness's stuff at some point for sure, the sound of a camp fire setting sounds amazing.
Thanks again, I will be sure to read some of your stuff, have a good one and please do take care.
Some seriously weird shit going down there, but seems harmless enough. so if it does it for you, go for it.( the view of a recent, somewhat mature member of this merry band at MPS)
Regards Dave
PS:your poetry is something I can understand and like. Take care.
Thank you for reading Doggerel Dave, hope that you are keeping well during these hard times.
Yeah you're right, some ASMR can veer off into the bizarre, and therefore an acquired taste, I suppose you've got to be in the right mood for it, but yeah for the most part absolutely harmless and does wonders, well for me at least.
I'm glad that my poetry speaks to you clearly, and that you enjoy reading it, for me, that is a true gift of a compliment.
Thanks again, I will be sure to read some of your stuff, have a good one and please do take care.
It certainly seems to work for you Ben, I had never heard of it but in one way I have been using it all my life with music. One piece I go to if I want to totally relax is the album Sleep by Max Richter, have a listen to this:

Andy
Thanks for the read Andy, hope all is well.
Yeah, there are ASMR / Reiki albums out there, in fact on a hard drive somewhere, I have a couple of self composed relaxation tracks myself that I sent to a care home.
The ASMRtist performs their role-plays very well and adds to the relaxation for sure.
I will definitely check out that Max Richter album at some point, as it certainly sounds like it helps you out.
Thanks again, have a good one and please do take care.
a wonderfully informative dedication
Thank you L. B. Mek, glad you enjoyed reading it.
