LOVE came & LOVE went ~ our LIPS to LIPS pressed !

Town was always Peaceful - Countryside was blessed

Always there was Family - on whom we could rely

The FUTURE  - Fanaticising ? Or just Pie in the Sky

Always there was Family - on whom we could rely

Then come the problems - *Loves Labour Lost ?*

The FUTURE - Fanaticising ? Or just Pie in the Sky

Then come the problems -  *Loves Labour Lost ?*

Friends - Romans - Countrymen - Lend me your Ears

Promotions - Emotions - Not counting the Cost

Memories only -  All those Halcyon Years ?

Friends - Romans - Countrymen - Lend me your Ears

When - Fam*ly - Friends - Feelings - SUBLIME

IN CLASSIC - ORAL TRADITION - POETRY ~  Repetition was very important as an *aide memoire* and to reinforce the message. A PANTOUM is much more simple than a VILLANELLE which is why we use it !  In verse 2  - lines 2 & 4 (from verse 1) become lines 1 & 3 - etc etc.  There can be any number of Quatrains - BUT - when we decide on the Final Verse we alter the pattern so that the First & Last line of the Pantoum are the same ~ which Squares the Circle ~ OK ! So - in short Line 3 (of V 1) becomes the 2nd Line of the final V and Line 1 (of V 1) becomes the final line of the POEM ! In this way every line of the Poem is repeated ONCE.  They are not too difficult to compose provided the Poem has a single theme. Why not try one for yourself ? !  Love A - B - C  💛💛💛

Last night I dreamed of my Aunt Elsie's rhubarb patch - quite bizzarre - something I had not thought about for 60 plus years. So that's the fifties when I entered my teens.

    • ANGELA & BRIAN

Than ks UNCLE MIKE for a very amusing reply ! Rhubarb - Rhubarb - Rhubarb as they say ! A vegetable of which we all have teenage memories of the Aunties who g rew it & cooked it. Seniors seem to like it. I have a good *Rhubarb Patch* on the College Allotment which I harvest with the students ~ wash it and cut itnto 1 inch pieces - bag it and sell it for 50p to the Silver Surfers IT Club to raise funds for the Rioja for the SSC Christmas Dinner. Some of them (80+) - in good accommodation - say they*ve *Never had it so Good* In our experience Seniors find their own entertainment but do like to get out for a *CLUB* and a Meal. We organise a Seniors (Three Course) Lunch in the Training Restaurant once a Month. Basic cost £7 with Alcoholic Drinks extra. The students who wait on enjoy the banter and the Music Dept provide an *Act & Some Community Singing* Numbers are curtailed (25 instead of 50) until December.

Blessing & Peace & Prayers to You & Jeanne
Love Angela - Brian & Smokey (who never harmed a Bird) !!!

HI UNLE STEVE ~ When you're as old as you are you will have 100s of Old Decades but not many Good ones ! Seniors in our College Club say you die from your feret up and most of them have ZIMMERS ! Pl eased you enjoyed it !

Blessings & Joy to You and Your Pugnacious Pooch

Good Aternoon ~ Poetic Dan ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! MPS is an excellent forum for all genres of Poetry ~ Good - Mediocre - but never BAD or UGLY (at the Moment). Angela (32) & I (37) have less than four Decades to choose from 80s 90s ~ 00s 10s ! I gues for both of us the 00s (Teen Years) were enjoyable - BUT - we both chose the 2010s independently ~ because that was when we Met - Married & Got our first Home & Cat *As Time Goes By* AMEN

Blessings & Peace to YOU & YOURS
          Love Angela - Brian - Smokey ! ! !

          Hi A & B & S the C:
The '70's merging into the 80's definitely - just managing to get my s**t together (took a long time)
Thanks once more for a great little nostalgia trip. That rosy was it..? Nah.definitely problems. Still enjoyed the ride.
          Take care Dave

HI DAN ~ GOOD EVENING ~ We guess every decade has its Hi's & Low's ~ Depends on where we are -who we*re with etc etc. 2020 had a nice equilibrium feel -- Tokio Olympics & all that - but COVID 19 wrecked it from !st January ! It never stood a CHANCE ! Seniors (85 +) tell me its worse then WW2 ~ at least they could see the Enemy ! WE were born in the 80s but folk tell me *The 70\'s weren*t as vibrant as the 60s but better than the 80s* Each decade must light its own candle ~ AMEN !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
            Love Angela - Brian - Smokey 💛💛💛

              Hi you lot:
              DAVE here!
              PANTOUM easier than VILLANELLE?....Yes?....Yes?
              Definitely leaving that one alone!
A rhyme or two, get that rhythm, even up the line lengths does me just fine. The rest I'll leave to practitioners.
              Regards Dave

            • L. B. Mek

(and really liked the rice krispies pun, sadly a little too true - but fun , all the same)

THANKS FRIEND ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! We do our best to INFORM & ENTERTAIN during this pandemic ! We have great FAITH in Global Science and this too shall PASS ! Please PRAY for all the Guinea Pigs (VOLUNTEERS !) who are *Road Testing* the VACCINES. Angel & I will willingly have our JAB when our turn comes ~ will YOU & YOURS ?
