GRANDMOTHER

Rose~

Notice of absence from Rose~
Life

Grandmother, so very old and fragile,

Remarkable you are in your prayers

And how you roam with beads all day,

Not tired of this selfish world,

Death comes your way and you smiled and prayed,

My childhood gone as the wind takes you,

Over the mountains, up high

There you lay on the bed

Her face stops her smile

Eyes show death

Remarkable you were grandmother for I have always loved you

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is an acrostic poem written for my grandmother, who is now as happy as she'll ever be, very far away from me. I hope you all cherish moments with your grandmother and remember her during this pandemic
