Give me attention
I know what you were thinking when you read that title
Attention seeker, Attention whore, Craves the spotlight
But that’s not the case
Really, it isn’t.
Imagine you are standing on the edge of a boat and your getting ready to jump. You see an incoming boat with a family on board. Wouldn’t you want them to give you attention?
Your about to do something that could potentially change your life, end your life even
Wouldn’t you want their attention?
I’m not saying I’m going to go jump off a boat to sort out the messed up things in my head
But I want to know someone is listening, giving me attention, for once
Is that really so bad?
The noun attention has so many negative connotations
Why is it a crime if I want someone to attend to me?
A mother attends to her baby’s cry
The police attend to 999 calls
So why is it any different if I, a 19 year old woman still needs attention.
Attention in itself is not a bad thing
It’s what you do with that attention that matters
I don’t want to bask in its glow or gloat that I am getting attention
I want it so that I can be better
I want it so I can go back to normal
I need it.

That normality in your life will soon be found as your attention is now seen within your words.
Andy
I like that. Yeah being in lockdown, is tough and it’s really easy to feel alone. So I try to cling onto people
look in the mirror, find that gaze that judges you so harshly, smile back at it - come back another day, find it again stare at it a little more intensely, for longer maybe: again, smile at it,
third time pays for all, as the saying goes - so next day, when you come back - this time barely give it a glimpse, then turn your back to it and try to listen, do you feel like smiling, crying or are you just still? Behold my friend, in three days you have introduced your true self, to yourself: now, continue and begin to see the truth you hide deep within - all that untapped power waiting,
deep breaths, small steps, let it all sink-in, one moment to the next - for you are alive and it is 'Life' that needs 'Your Attention!' Live it, live it well with whatever you have to give and rejoice, in all the tears and laughter that frame the cornerstones to your tale,
forward - ever forward, let the ghost consume the past you shed,
'You' are future: unravelling fate - yet to be defined...
and thank you for inspiring my little scribble, stay safe
Your welcome. I love the use of imagery in your words. Stay safe too
