Reflections on Love.

Fay Slimm.

Reflections on Love.

Love only grows near introspection
and fades when a thought
becomes deformed.

When lies are intended for deflection
death of beautiful trust
breeds disorder.

Nothing will muddy love's complexion
like the thick ugly mask
of distortion.

Love demands but honest reflection
for its ground to blossom
and vows adorn.

    I can feel love

It is sad to see the words of loves frailty here. Their meaning can only be truly understood by those who have lived them. Somewhere between verses three and four, anyone with such experience would build a fence of apprehension to defend the heart and contain the desire for verse four.

Love, such a wonderful emotion with so much destructive power. If only we could harness it's positives and erase the negative.... if only.

A great reflection of love, a real sense of it diffused through experience and of a slow retreat that is lifted at the end with fresh buds of promise. Thanks for sharing this.

Very true Fay but when true love is in your life it is so strong that nothing can break that bond, even the passing of ones lover.
