As I strolled upon the grass

The product of some dog’s ass (US spelling, UK pronunciation  – OK?)

Adhered itself to my shoe

Which was of course brand new.....

    Grass (no not the stuff you roll up and light) - the horizontal green stuff...that's Nature, right?
    Stylistically owes much to William Topaz McGonagall – to whom I am in great debt.

    When that old Tay bridge came a tumbling down
    McGonagall was there for the event.
    Now whereas most folks think him a clown
    He allows free range for my poetic bent.

    Regards Dave

    Good fun write Dave, as I said to Jabberwocky with those clean shoes you must watch where you put your feet.

    BRIAN HERE ~ Good Morning Dave (it 6am Monday here) thanks for the *Nature Song* we used t sing it with the Scouts round the camp fire in the Last Century ! As to the POEM ! The GOOD BOOK says we *Should be careful how & where we walk !* AMEN
    W T McGonagall was a Irsh Poet ~ A free spirit who obeyed none of the *Rules of Classic Poetry !* He is a good role model for Modern Poets !

    (sing to tune of I'm all shook up)
    Affixed to my sole
    from out some doggie do's hole
    let it be heard
    I done trod in a turd
    my life's surrounded by the smell of sh^t
    oh my word
    now its on my shirt
    oh yeah, yeah.
    I'm all messed up
    =========
    ok thats enough of the elvis impressions.... back to poetry in its classical style
    ================
    I could stroll in that park all day long
    but on this occasion there was a terrible pong
    and a squelchy feeling beneath my left shoe
    yes you've guessed it, i'd stepped in dog poo

    ahead was a spaniel wearing a doggy coat quilt
    and in his eye, a distinct look of guilt
    so not one to let the moment pass bye
    deftly i flipped the turd in his eye

    as can be seen elsewhere on mps, theres some kinds of poetry which instantly get my creative juices flowing (the stains are terrible) and you've scored a bulls-eye with your splendid post today.

        Gave 'em a good hose,
        But bugger me those
        Lovely new shoes
        Gave me the blues.

        I'll sing you a song next time - Grand clearance a MPS- earplugs and mass evacuation...
        Regards Dave

        What a great metaphor Dave. It always seems that I'm stepping in it. It's the clean up that gets me.
