underworld

tylerintheclouds

last night i went swimming in the ocean of my mind

deep diving in the speaking water

and she told me stories of the underworld

where fractions of utopia lie

to get there, she told me to surpass the blue

and my naivety threw itself at the first wall

taking turns of three degree water burns

to enter a realm of green she called the deeper level

reflecting flares of parallel stares

continued to bring me to a halt

but she told me to surpass the green

by temporarily sleeping but keeping

my eyes blurred from fake meaning when needed

with my eyes now open to a level of truth

i enter the deepest stage a shade of red

but surpassing this level was the easiest task

as by breaking through levels, i’d removed a mask

and left room for love to take me past

as i reached the underworld, i stood with confusion

eye-line to the shore beside the ocean

who spoke to me with raw devotion

and said ‘this is all that you’d been hoping’

as soon as vulnerability faded away

as soon as i broke through the blue, green and red stage

i reminisced on the words the ocean said

and realised i had always been where utopia lay

I'll be honest - I don't usually get along at all well with the poetry which spends interminable lines examining the poet's internal workings. I want to shout 'Get out there and examine the world'.
However I found myself in synchronicity with this one, so...
Now I don't feel qualified to say'Welcome to MPS' - haven't got the seniority. However someone will assuredly be along soon. In the meantime, Good Luck anyway.

Utopia is as always within use all we need is the ability to find it as you have done.

    Welcome to MPS.
