Where Nobody Has Gone Before.

Goldfinch60

She was going to do what!

Our daughter had picked up some furniture

She was going to ‘up-cycle’ it!

I thought this is different,

She had not done that before,

She was an artist though

And that was her strength,

That was her life,

So maybe art was being used

To reform the furniture.

I did reply though

With my thoughtful words,

Saying that when she had finished

And created her spaceship

I would join her, to explore.

To explore strange new worlds,

To seek out new life

And new civilisations,

To boldly go

Where nobody has gone before.

I can imagine you sat on your captains log, reading a copy of the spocktator, clearing your throat "Uhuru" whilst from your kitchen comes the sound "she's gonna blow captain" your personalised kettle coming up to the boil.
And i'm left thinking "It's life dusk, but not as i know it".

        Good write Gold.
I went where no one had gone before in 1066. Everyone wishes I had not gone there at all.

Ha - - up-cycling the old to give a trendy new face just gave me my first smile of the day my friend - I love that number and the surreal spaceship read Andy hoping your clever daughter made a silk purse in the end from that worn-out ear of worse-for-wear furniture.

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you Fay, I am sure she will make that silk purse.

Good Friday Uncle Andy ~ Brian here ! Thanks for Piano Recital ~ reminded me of my Dad !
Loved the poem it reminded me of two of my Fave TV Programs ~ *Repair Shop* where heirlooms are lovingly restored and *Money for Nothing* where *People in Masks* hover round garbage dumps and ask people to part with their garbage before putting it in the SKIP ! The Lone Rangers then take it to Craftpersons who transform it (for a price) into something awesome. The product is sold for a profit and the profit (sometimes in xs of £100) is given to the original donor ! The MANTRA IS *Anything can be Repaired - Recycled or Revamped^ AMEN !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
              Love Angela Brian Smokey ! ! !

Brilliantly done, I love the newest of TV show! It actually feels like it grows with each Generations understanding!

As you know I like to play with my own consciousness and belief system! I think we could see it in another 4 to 500 years...

It's easy to watch, think or act but to actually do! Day in day out, that must be what have is the wording dedication!

              Keep up the write!

Thank you Dan, I have watched Star Trek from the beginning back in 1969, I have all the series and films and have been watching the new series on Netflix. Many of my poems are inspired by words heard on the series'.

Its a whole new world out there anyway, isn't it Andy ...

I admire anyone who attempts to upcycle and am a self confessed recycler myself .. always finding new things and ways to reduce my carbon footprint .........with a bit of luck, it will make the world go round a bit longer ....

                  • Goldfinch60

That new world is there for us all.

I too admire people who recycle or upcycle things as you say it may make the world go round a bit longer.

That's a good deal for a bit of patching and a little paint. Feelings of satisfaction and some musings from the captains log in stardate 14pt font.
