summer No 17

dusk arising

There was
promise
in the air
that summer.

Piling into
Jimmy's truck
and hit the
riverside.

Drinking
sweet cider.
Messing round
till gone sunset.

With a stolen kiss
.            i watched a dream unfold in moonlit eyes.

Eyes
which faded
with the new
day's light.

Such days
were cheap
and plenty
then.
