i can sometimes be very lazy, dont worry, i will eventually get back to you. i am very busy, almost all the time...
Loneliness means nothing when you are free.
Freedom means nothing when you are alone.
That little something that says I see you.
That little nothing that reminds you you exist
Emptiness is nothing new, nor to be ashamed of,
When all you knew is anger and pain, heartache and destruction.
The light that targets you, reminds you you want to sink
Below the level of the ground. Into a realm
Where none can see, or hear you screaming in pain.
The screams of an anguished man, who wishes to love and be loved, yet feels nothing.
Why scream in silence they say?
Because the silence hides exposure to those who prey on that weakness.
Why then fight?
Because I cannot self terminate. I am alive.
That fact prevents me from not being alive. I fight because there is no other choice.
But I am missing. Missing that one vital piece of my heart that cannot ever be replaced.
That part of me that is who I am. Is missing.
Missing from the rest of me.
Missing from the world.
Missing from eternity.

- Comment from author about the poem: In this fateful year, myself and my family have endured much. A group of rioters targeted us when we finally got awarded council home. We lost the car (essential, as I am disabled) and nearly our lives as well. For the past month and a half, we have gone from a 3 bed house to a 1 bed flat as emergency accommodation. The poem tells my thoughts as we await an outcome on a new place to rebuild our lives. Thanks.

Very emotive write Dave, I do hope that all gets sorted out and that the missing piece of your heart is found once more.

Really emotive and filled with half-spoken anguish stoically navigated. Hope all works out well and that your poetry helps make sense of the turmoil life can seem when it's all so in yer face and immediate.
