Tracing a line

As the blue hills

Pass by in a flash

Of orange sky

And the clouds open up

To the sea below

Shimmering, vast

Dotted with sails

Speeding toward you

As we slowly dance

Circle each other

Touching hands

Brushing cheeks

Beams of light

Across the bridges

Tracing a line

Through pale forests

Where frozen tracks

Make light-winged manoeuvres

And the girl in the reflection

Catches my eyes

Sees something of her future

As the blue hills

Pass by in a flash

Of orange sky

And my heart beats

At your tempo.

A nice beat in the heart of this poem. Wistful and tentative like a shy hunger good manners can never sate however noble the desire is.
