Life Changer.

Goldfinch60

As we go through our lives

Sometimes we want it to change.

Things may be going wrong,

Life may be a struggle.

So we go looking,

Looking for someone to change our life.

It can be a long hard struggle

But with experience of life

We eventually come to realise

That in looking for that person,

That person who will change our life

All we have to do is look,

Look in the mirror.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

HERE ~ Good Monday Uncle ANDY ! Love the Massenet Piano & Violin Duet. Very soothing as we greet the Dawn. Thanks for sharing the Truth in your Poem ! The older I get the more I realise that - with a little help from Brian & from above - I am indeed the *Mistress of my own Destiny !*

Blessing & Peace to You & Yours
    Love Angela Brian & Smokey ! ! !

Thank you Angela, we are responsible for our own destinies.

Good write Gold. What can I do? I looked in the mirror and it shattered. I'm being repaid for turning up in 1066! lol.

        Thanks Orchi.

It's your day! Are you Andrew, or Andy? St Andrew's Day today. (*draws attention to my poem for today!*).

        • Goldfinch60

Yes Orchi it is my day, the scotch, without water, went down well today.

Absolutely right. It's pointless looking for someone else to do that although it is a mistake most people make. And somehow a lot get away with it.

          • Goldfinch60

Thanks d a, we must always do it oursleves.

On one level you are spot on, Andy. If life’s a misery, apparently not working out, static - then a little analytical introspection and a resolve to try something different, explore other possibilities will result in a stronger human being. Why await a savior, who might never appear or come with their own set of problems?
If, however, the abjection felt is extreme, then professional help may be indicated.

            Take it easy, Dave

            • Goldfinch60

Thanks Dave, yes we occasionally need professional help in some things but living our lives the way we would like it to go is up to us. I feel that I am very lucky in my life to be where I am today.

That's the main thing Andy - I never doubted it of you.
My comment was really for the wider audience, as sometimes on MPS there appears to be a superfluity of, mostly young poets, in dire internal conflict. And I know that (long ago as it may be) it took me some years to sort myself out along the lines you succinctly expressed here.

                Take care Dave
