Tune: Roll Call
('When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound')
Psalm 34 v.1-9
*********
I will bless the LORD true at all times throughout life's stages, rhymes
His praise shall be in my mouth, let fresh begin
My soul to make her boast now sure in the LORD evermore
The humble, they shall hear, be glad, no more sad
Chorus
O magnify the LORD with me
How great His works, His wonders be
Come, praise His name together, free
Offer him thanks, worship Him continually
I sought the LORD and He did me hear, delivered me from fears
Looking now unto Him we by faith Him view
So we be lightened, radiant, and we be to Him attent
Our faces they not ashamed nor faring poor - Chorus
I was a poor man, unto the LORD called, and He heard my word
And saved me out then of my troubles, was when
I prayed, did seek Him, and He knew all my cares, He did them view
Helped me, guided me, for it be His grace, see - Chorus
The angle of the LORD camps around those who fear Him, they sound
And safe kept, for He does deliver them, we
Can come, taste, see, the LORD is good, supplies spiritual food
Blessed are they that do trust Him e'er, He does care - Chorus

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in: Verses: 15.11.15.11. metre, and Chorus: 8.8.8.11. metre. Not the easiest poem to construct. It rhymes mid-line on every line of the verses. I chose the layout: 9.6. 5.6. 8.7. 8.3. then put those pairs of lines together. This sounds like Bingo now!
