Sleep to Forget

Tayama

She still sees herself at 35...

Not ever to be seen when she cries...

Knowing he did really leave...

Pictures of what should have been in pieces...It rarely ever is...

Why don't people ever aspire to the love that is offered?

Stagnant at 45, a woman and a child...

Making excuses for what is never achieved...

So, few mirrors now, that she can never look at, as her shame reflects back...

Dust covered books of hope and a new her, never read...

Limbo has become her motto...

Why? Such a waste...

She thinks he can never be replaced...

She has and doesn't know it, yes, she does...

She goes to bed, to sleep a hopefully dreamless sleep...

Pills are very low, as she maybe took one to many?

She can only hope...

He's never coming back...she says to herself...

Maybe it's time to sleep forever?

Thanks that was a good evocation of heartache, anguish and a quirky what will be will be resilience, the way I read it!
