MY FAVE MEMORIES ~ HOLIDAYS IN SPAIN ~ ANGELA

I was born & raised in England ~ IN LONDON
My PAPA was a Spanish Wine Merchant ~ RIOJA
Based in the UK in LONDON ~ He was born in SEVILLA !
Every Summer I used to spend a month in SEVILLA
Con mis ABUELOS ~ With my GRANDPARENTS !

It was a magical time in a Magical part of Spain
The climate ~ I was as Brown as a Berry !
The Flamenco Music & Flamenco Dancing
And the Southern Spanish Cuisine ~ Heaven !

My MAMA was English but she studied SPANISH
And Business Studies @ University and worked
In my Fathers London Office before they were Married !
So we often spoke Spanish @ Home and I studied
Spanish A-Level a Level @ School with the Sciences.

Speaking only Spanish in the Holidays made it more .......
MAGICAL ~ I will never forget ~ those Lazy - Hazy - Crazy
Days of my endless SPANISH SUMMERS ~ AMEN !

I thought I’d pop a poem in the forum tonight
A poem about memories but try as I might
I’ve completely forgotten what I wanted to write

MEMORIES OF THE ENGLISH LAKE DISTRICT ~ BRIAN

I love the ENGLISH LAKE DISTRICT ~ For ME
It is the most Beautiful Place on EARTH !
Ten major LAKES radiating out from GRASMERE
Like the Spokes on a Wheel ~ And Ten major
PEAKS - The Highest being SCAFELL PIKE 978 m
The longest lake is WINDERMERE ~ 11 miles.

I made my first visit (4 weeks) in 1999
When I was 16 with my Friend BILL (16).
WE were both SCOUTS so we hiked & camped !
I was a Student of Natural Sciences and BILL
Of Earth Sciences. To us the LAKE DISTRICT
was a CORNUCOPIA of Flora & Fauna & Geology.
We fell in Love with the Lake District and
have visited many many times since ~ AMEN !

Memories

She searches for the destination 
where his love could reside
But his soul is tightly sealed
Oh those vacant eyes !

Slipping through her fingers
like love on the ledge
Falling over, unreachable 
his heart cannot pledge

Oh if only for a moment 
Any sign of recognition
In the whispers of darkness 
Any spark of love's condition

The place where love cries
The place where her heart bleeds
Reaching out through the fog
She settles for what unreachable breeds
