In the mist, or in the crisp,
I enjoy taking the air,
To pretend to be a pro hiker
Upon the sconce, to mud up my boots,
And to show them off, as proof,
Of my good exercise.
In the mist, or in the crisp,
I enjoy taking the air,
So, I can get lost, but find again,
My basic cares, with my buds playing
An array of pieces, that become
The voices of the flora.
In the mist, or in the crisp,
I need to take the air,
To clear away the dirge-like debris,
Of what I’ve seen, heard and thought,
So, by foot, my solo therapy
Restarts my sanity.
In the mist, or in the crisp,
I need to take the air,
To explore the options of sanctuary,
As home is where the heart is,
And not a fixed space, thus,
On foot I go, to find my kingdom.

- Comment from author about the poem: Though not actually a festive piece, I thought I would share this poem with you all, as it is very pertinent right now. With the restrictions that are still in force due to the pandemic, having a walk; has become a bigger part of our lives. There are many reasons why we walk, and in this poem, a few of my reasons are outlined. Hope that you enjoy, and please do take care.

Good write A.
This raises several vitally important questions for me to ask ya:
'Where ya going?'
'How long will it take ya to get there?'
'Could ya take the No.7 bus there if the weather turns bad?!' heehee.
Thank you orchidee, glad you enjoyed it.
Regards to the answers to your questions:
"Where ya going?" Answer: I honestly have no idea, but I'm sure I would fit it.
"How long will it take you to get there?" Answer: Again, I honestly have no idea, but the journey I think would be just as rewarding as the destination.
"Could ya take the No. 7 bus there if the weather turns bad?!" Answer: Probably, but if it is that bad then I shall stay inside and remain to dream with a glass of something cheerful thinking "I'm not going out in that sh*t!" Haha!
Thanks again, and take care.
Walking is so important, especially walking with Nature or even better when I walk with My River, life always calms down and peace and love live within me.
Andy
We're lucky to live nearby such lovely places Andy, and I'm glad that you find solace walking with your river.
In Newark, I have the sconce, the Riverside Park by the Trent and the Castle, and other little places of interest. It's so nice to have a walk, to be away from the loudness of the modern-day, and the frustrations of technology.
Thanks again, and take care.
