The Moon's Call.

Goldfinch60

Oh what a beautiful Morning,

I was there walking with My River

And there before me in this dawn light

Shone the full moon.

I walked towards it

Glorying in its beauty and wonder.

It shined on me leading me into my future

And I rose towards it,

Being pulled by this glorious sight.

One day I will reach it

And from there take off,

Take off into eternity with my lover.

We will tour the infinite Universe

With our love propelling us once more,

Into the glory of our life together.

    A fine write gold.
Now it's started me off singing - that first line. Bit old, dates from 1943. Oklahoma film (1955).
We wouldn't know the newer film (apx 2011) being very old!.

Ps: and the poem, I spose.

My pleasure Dave, it is Chet's birthday on 23rd December, he was born in 1929 and is my favourite jazz trumpeter.

Great to hear Chet really bop. This is 1954 and he still had his teeth.I have become so accustomed to his tone without teeth that hearing young Chet again is a revelation. Such a fluid player. That sounds like an alto clarinet on there too. Much nicer playing than Eric Dolphy who seemed to choose it as his number one weapon. I'm going to have to explore this LP.

Well what can i say about the moon in your poetry. The moon is a fine lady and despite many a dalliance with her, by me and many other suitors, she retains her virtue.

It surely is d a, he was a marvellous player even without his teeth. I too need to explore that session.

Thank you d a, yes that virtue is always there.
