Few little steps in the poerty of life

Poetic Dan

How quickly we forget the mission of our own first steps

The balance needed to form a milestone event of the norm

Before you know it this all becomes second nature

Yet once those ambitions were the greatest adventure

Fortunate to be in a time this is so easily captured

For us to look back or just celebrate lifes art in making

The wobbles on the journey of love are all the paints needed

To keep up a pure soulful edition on this universal canvas

Greatful to her first few steps, in the poerty of life

To be my muse & inspiration, keeping the write from dark to light

This little Maarii Iris, is on her way to be a full dragonfly

Blessed to have this gift on lifes mystical magical ride

  • Comment from author about the poem: This happened Friday and I must say I was so chuffed for she had taken one or two in the week but did a first full strut to me!! It was an awesome moment and one I hope to not forget but if I do, then I'll slap myself with all I've written here! Or look down at those stripes I have earned...honestly so grateful to have all I do around me, thank you for joining me on my journey and soulful thoughts! I never fail to read but don't always have the time to respond! Always appreciated with much peace and respect, keep up the write as one poet always said!

I don't remember my kids first steps, but I do remember how excited I was by this first show of independence.

      • Poetic Dan

Yeah I do ramble on but her pic says it all! Thoses moments of independence keep us forever on our toes, no matter the age they get too!

Glad to see you still popping in!

A lovely time to remember Dan. There will be many more. Such pleasures they bring forth.
You words today are more than about what young Maarii Iris has achieved, for there are great big steps you have too achieved and it seems your are learning to walk tall and look the world right in the eye with love shining out of your eyes.

            Respect.

            • Poetic Dan

You are right I definitely drifted from my first thoughts but think they came back in the end! Once I confirmed that inner lesson I hope I have fully learnt! To look all in the eye with no hate as my head has been tall and unable to look away!

Thank you buddy and have a fantastic start to the week!!

'then I'll slap myself with all I've written here'
that Sir, is Poetry (in all its forms) distilled to its very nucleus: purpose, for existence...
Amen! oh gifted Poet, what a beautiful dedication you've penned to one of life's most wholesome of wonder's, may the love you imbued in your song keep her safe and never too far: from her next smile, thank you for sharing!

              • Poetic Dan

Ha ha! Thank you for picking up that vibration my friend... Hopefully won't need that slap!
