Spring

Christina8

Hope perches on a branch in my heart

waiting patiently for spring to come;

She looks out of her broken window

wondering where the cold comes from.

Love is a tired old woman in the

depths of my soul, fatigued and dismayed;

Not knowing what should come naturally,

she sits in the dark afraid.

There outside an empty corpse

love tries to breathe life into me

Almost unwillingly, hope accepts just

enough love to survive, just barely

Because all that is within her

knows that love ends with pain.

the voice inside reminds her that no one

can ever take away her stain.

    Well written, Christina! One never knows, but fortunately that heartbreak does not happen all the time. Congratulations on your 20 years. With me, this year we counted 44 years of marriage and all to the same woman! 🙂

        Shows how far you have come Christina
        From the hopelessness felt when written to the happiness now.

                There is really heartfelt pain and longing in your words. It's beautifully written. I really felt it.

                This goes into my favourites for sure.

                  wonderful use of colloquial imagery, makes every stanza accessible and instantaneously relatable, subtle strokes of intuitive genius: instilled, within humility's natural tendencies,
                  a wonderful read, thanks for sharing

                    So nice to feel your vibration again my friend!
                    Wow, what a trip you just took me on! I read an article that divorce and heart ache, letting go of that love connect, is just like being born again!!

                    I honestly thought the second time round I was done with all life!! 9 years later I have a been what some would say "born again" with more energy than I ever had!

                    Lol as I read this again I actually cried again!

                    Thanks for helping clear the windows to my soul...

                    It truly helps as much as you know and I'm sure the message will give the smile I know it can give!

                    Much peace and respect
                    Keep up that spirit!

                      Young love is an emotion that's a cause of commotions (heartaches)
                      Old love shifts through commotions to reach true emotions (love)

                      A truly emotional poem
