we are assaulted by
the noise of the past
by the time we hear
the slow-moving sound
it is too late to change
we are trapped in the net
of lost opportunities
asleep among the pillars
monuments of defeat
until we awake to
the speed of light
showing us the present
tiny glimpses of the future
we must close our ears
welcome the light
indulge in the sweetness
of our illuminated mind

Each new moment in our lives will show us the way to the future by using our experience from the past.
Andy
Thanks Andy, we can use the experience from your past as long as we don't make the same mistake. You know what they call a guy with two black eyes? A slow learner!
Good write Fred.
Whoosh! I never saw ya there, going at the speed of light. 186,000 miles per second. Hmm, that's quite fast I reckon! lol.
Thanks Orchi, if you wanna catch me you gotta be awfully fast!!!
Bam... Inspirational stuff but what else's would you ever give us!!
Much appreciated
Thanks P D, and 'bam' to you too! You are even more inspirational than a sunny Hawaiian Sunday morning! 🙂
a powerful ending, crisp imagery and smooth flow, what a great read!
Happy Holidays
Mahalo L.B., you are too kind. I think if I wouldn't be sunburned, I would blush!
