Stone Walls

Tayama

Stone walls in the forest...

She can no longer cross...

He died in the valley...

That forever will carry...

Her anguish of the love that they held...

In silence, dared never to tell...

Nor feel except when they shared the forest floor...

Pine needles in her hair, as she breathed him in, even more...

When love is a rapture of silence and denial...

So easy to fool the world of fools...

That could never even begin to see...

Of all the whys that it was him...

Let it die, let it fade...

Then it will rise up again, when all but her...

Alone in the woods, sun blocked by the shade...

Of the shroud that in life was a blanket of bliss...

Now a cover to feel and miss...

The love that defines us all, when we let our hearts go and seek...

The one that God gave to us in life, and even when they are taken to sleep...

The stones are like our hearts, never to break...

Only to be set anew...as we again wait...

For the messages of love that we crave...

Yet so often denied and thrown away...

It's rare that it may brush us as it moves through our lives...

Keep hearts open and wide...

As she did and will do...

To hear the wind blow through the trees...

And whisper in His voice...

I loved and love you.
