Tune: Carol (Willis)
('It came upon the midnight clear')
Isaiah 9 v.6-7
**********
For unto us a child is born
Was on first Christmas morn
Unto us a son is given
The Christ-child sent from heaven
The government shall be upon
His shoulders, ruling One
And names He shall have lastingly
He the Son of God be
His name shall be called Wonderful
He full of glory all
And Counsellor, He shall us guide
Within our hearts reside
The mighty God, the Prince of Peace
Whose reign shall never cease
The everlasting Father He
Son of God, same He be
Of increase of His government
And peace, no end, [the] intent
Peace shall be upon David's throne
Israel's King, so known
And upon His kingdom, it shall
Be ordered, stablished well
With judgement and justice for e'er
The LORD's zeal works this fair

Nicely written! Happy New Year
Thanks RB.
What else should I expect from a brethren if not pieces of Grace and Salvation?
I can see the vision of a manger in Bethlehem, crying baby in it clinching his fist and of course not letting go of our gift of peace and freedom he held. That was the beginning of salvation, I wish I was there among the wise to be the first to offer a worship.
Thanks for publishing this one
Amon
Thanks Amon.
I expect He did cry at times, or He would not be human. Some carols make Him a super-babe, as if in a fur-lined manger with central heating: 'No crying He makes....' .Though He is human AND divine.
Hi Orchidee,
A good write.
May the good Lord protect us and keep us safe during this pandemic.
Keep writing ✍ and safe during these challenging times.
