WHITE STUFF.
Silently falling
snow covers windows,
clouds fill with iced white stuff
to drift over borders
until it starts thawing.
;;; ;; ;
;; ;
Unknown in Cornwall
for coast to see snowflakes
but if my weeny Tessa-dog
spends too long indoors
she gets restless when bored.
;;; ;; ;
;; ;
Walking still calls
tho' short trip is welcome
so donning coats needed
we both dress for warmth
and promise no dawdling.
;;; ;; ;
;; ;
Unlatched back door
sees Tess rushing outward
but yapping soon stops as sliding
this canine falters
to shake four frost-laden paws.
;;; ;; ;
;; ;
Enough of forced
outings sniffs my ruffled lady
and flops down by fire-side
to hog hearth's warmth
while lazily yawning.

Fantastic first read of the year! And a happy cold one to you and the hound, I must admit the tips of my fingers really don't enjoy the beauty my eyes do...
Thank you again for starting me off with all of natures wonder, including the magical way you put thoses words together!
Felt warm and cozy by the end!
Your generous comments are ever welcome dear Dan and so pleased you enjoyed the read of White Stuff we sometimes glimpse around here............... keep warm and safe in the New Year.
Good write Fay.
Humble thanks Orchi for your visit and read.
Did i ever tell you i'm a dog? Laying down in front of a fire and my paws going all floppy whilst I dream of snowmen.... mmmmm bliss.
Yep, your poetry has a profound effect, or am i going mad cos they wont let me out. We're on tier three, he he he.... can you tell it's driving me nuts.
Ha - - D.A. mask up and hop out to find a snowman cos I hear tiers might be dropped soon - -can you prove by your bark though what kind of canine you are -- and here's a secret you dear dreamy person - - lying alongside a fire is my kinda treat too - - so nuts you are not and of that I am certain - -- - - - masses of thanks for your visit and comment my floppy friend.
You could have penned these words for my very own four legged friend Fay ........... she aint called Fay, by the way, she's called Brulee Bru Bruiser Parsley Parsnip ....
Big smiles here Nev...... yours has a mate here if she objects to a wet walk or playing in snow - - but it's sure that Tessa my little black miss would be happy to greet Brulee Bru one day - - as long as there' is no chance of rain !!
Great fun write Fay, the time by the fire is much more rewarding.
Andy
