Ex-Friend

Poetry_Lover

Maybe our last goodbye gave me the rest if my life. Maybe you leaving me was the thing I never thought would be best. Maybe you were there to show me what aspects of myself I needed to

better

All for the incoming people who were to make me who I became and will still become with them by my side.

You were a great friend to have around for those few years. I don't think I will ever understand why you stopped talking to me that day. I will never know what made you do that. What thoughts went through your head.

I'm grateful for that now, looking back. You gave me that push my life needed to roll down the hill.

I don't know why but I know that people end up where they are supposed to be, with the people that need to be with for a certain amount of time.

So now instead of wondering why,

I Thank you.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was back when I ended a friendship I thought was great at the time. I was so broken over this. My poem is how I feel now, years later. Realising I didn't need a broken friendship. I hope if anyone is going through or has gone thought something like this that you can have a relaxed mind even without proper closure. All the love xx

Very good words PL, and so meaningful. These things happen in our lives for no apparent reason but on looking back we can see why - it is called experience.
