That laughter comes from us at birth,
The smile erupts into that wonderful sound.
The joy of children laughing is wondrous
As they have no limitations to their innocence.
We get older and it is still with us
Through schooldays and teenage years.
We may not laugh as much through middle age
But it is still with us.
Then we grow old and maybe stop laughing,
Thinking it is not right at our time of life.
But you don’t stop laughing
Because you grow old,
You grow old
Because you stop laughing.
You don’t stop laughing because you grow old,
You grow old because you stop laughing.

Good write Gold.
One of my nightmares - Stand-up comedians Show. Phew, it's on late-night. I shall miss it.
They say 'Comedy and laughter coming soon on TV'. I say 'Where?!'
So true there is so little real comedy as thee used to be. I think the funniest programme on tv at the moment is "Would I Lie to You", it is hilarious sometimes.

Oh yes indeed - agree most fully with that wise quote my poet-friend - - and what a treasure of music you chose to accompany your winsome words. Thanking you sincerely for both dear Andy.
Thank you Fay, it is my absolute pleasure.

Now i'm reassured to know i'm still a youngster. I thought i was you know..... once.
Some great re-runs of top gear on tv (and many others) have had me in fits of laughter lately. A great release of shielding monotomy.
Laughing is so invaluable in our lives, let it always be so.

Really rhythmical and thoughtful Andy, a tribute to the wisdom you were inspired by. A real treat to read.
